Fred Dewel Cofer, 74, of New Orleans, Louisiana, died on Wednesday, July 12, 1989, at 7 a.m. at his home their.
Funeral services were held at 10 a. m. on July 14, 1989 at the Funeral Home of Jacob Schden and Son, Inc., New Orleans, Louisiana. Interment was in Restlawn Military Cemetery in New Orleans Louisiana, with military Rites.
A native of Coffeeville, Miss., Yalobusha County, Mr. Cofer was a son of the late Martha Ann McCammon Cofer and James Percy "Jimmy" Cofer. He served with General Patton's 3rd Army in Eupore during World War 11, and was a member of Veterans' Organization. He was retired employee of Rider, Inc. as a truck driver.
Survivors include: his wife, John Jeanne Jessie Crotwell Cofer; two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Cofer Norwood of Tunica, Louisiana and Mrs. Annie Laura Cofer Black of Vardaman, Miss.; two brothers, Roy D. Cofer of Gore Springs, Miss. and Hugh E. Cofer of Grenada, Mississippi.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Francis Dale Davis Cofer, and a sister Mae Olean Cofer Cofer.
Fred's second wife passed away January 8, 1995 in New Orleans, Louisiana
