Mr. Van Braddy, age 83, Mount Vernon, Ga., died at his residence Thursday morning, January 15, 1998.

A lifelong resident of Montgomery County, Mr. Braddy was the son of the late Henry A. Braddy and the late Stella Collins Braddy. He was married to the late Lucile Palmer Braddy. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Primitive Baptist Church, Vidalia.

Survivors include one son, Gary P. Braddy, Mt. Vernon; one daughter, Winona Taylor, Ailey; two sisters, Thelma Hale, Jacksonville, Fla., and Claudean Braddy, Macon; two brothers, M.A. Braddy and Julian Braddy, Soperton; six grandchildren, Byron Braddy and Nancy McDonald, Soperton, Diane Manning, Uvalda, Brian Braddy, Brandon Braddy, and Brent Braddy, Mt. Vernon; and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Braddy were held in the chapel of Sammons Funeral Home, Soperton, Ga., at 3:00 Saturday afternoon, January 17. Burial followed in the Adams Cemetery, Montgomery County. Elder Manning Temples and the Rev. Jack Fernandez officiated.

Pallbearers were Byron Braddy, Brian Braddy, Brandon Braddy, Brent Braddy, Tracy Braddy, John Braddy, Al Manning, Alan McDonald and Carl Fordham.
