William Henry McKnight, 59, Nampa, died Friday at his home. Mr. McKnight was born June 26, 1912 at Lewiston, Utah. He was reared in Lewiston and farmed with his father. He served on an LDS mission in the western states, was superintendent of the Sunday School and a member of the choir in the Lewiston First Ward and played baseball with the Lewiston League. He married Leota Layne on Dec. 15, 1936, at the Logan LDS Temple, Logan, Utah. They came to Nampa in 1944 where he farmed and worked in the construction business as a cement mason. He was a member of the Nampa First Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a member of the Seventies Quorum in the church, served as a home teacher, was president of the ward choir, was a soft ball pitcher for numerous leagues for several years, and was a member of Local No. 219, Operative Plasterers and Cement Masons.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Leota Layne McKnight, Nampa; three sons, Chad L. and Paul Henry McKnight, both of Nampa, and DeLane L. McKnight, Boise; three daughters, Mrs. James E. (Karla) Smith, Concord, Calif., Mrs. Howard A. (Verta Lee) Nau, Nampa, and Mrs. Jon A. (Marlene) Curtis, Boise; his mother, Mrs. Gertrude McKnight, Nampa; four brothers, Joe McKnight, Caldwell, Paul McKnight, Cornish, Utah, Scott McKnight, Nampa, and Bruce McKnight, Las Vegas, Nev.; four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Karren, Pleasanton, Calif., Mrs. Mary Zollinzer, Providence, Utah, Mrs. Roma Hemsley, Pocatello, Idaho, and Mrs. Pat Barson, Nampa. He was preceded in death by his father, Bishop Joseph McKnight.
