Joseph L. McKnight, 66, Caldwell died Monday in a Caldwell hospital. He was born Nov. 7, 1914, in Lewiston, Utah, where he was reared and educated. He graduated from North Cache High School, Richmond, Utah, in 1933. He married Aletha Gamble on Nov. 26, 1938, in Logan, Utah. They lived in Lewiston, Utah. In 1941, they moved to Preston, where he worked for Mountain States Implement Co. In 1959, they moved to Caldwell, where he worked for B&M Equipment Co. They moved to Boise in 1963, and to Idaho Falls in 1964. He sold insurance for Penn Life Insurance Co. They returned to Caldwell in 1967. They moved to West Yellowstone, Mont., in 1969, returning to Caldwell later that year. He recently worked at the Amalgamated Sugar Co., Nampa. He was a member and elder of the LDS Church, Caldwell 3rd Ward; helped organize the Kiwanis Club in Rexburg and Preston; and sang in the The Melodians in Cache Valley, Utah, and for the Mormonaires, Boise.
He is survived by his wife of Caldwell; two sons, Bruce G. of Anchorage, Alaska, and Craig I., of Sacramento, Calif.; three brothers, Paul of Cornish, Utah, Scott of Nampa, and Bruce of Las Vegas; four sisters, Ruth Karren of Federal Way, Wash., Mary Zollinger of Providence, Utah, Roma Hensley of Pocatello and Pat Barson of Meridian; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother.
