Funeral services for Herbert G. Hawker Sr., 65, formerly of Skaneateles Street, Jordan, who died Saturday at Veterans Administration Hospital after a long illness, will be 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at B. L. Bush & Sons Funeral Home, Jordan. Spring burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Jordan.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 15 N. Main St.
Born in Elbridge, Mr. Hawker was a life resident of the area. He had been employed as a mason carpenter at Crucible Steel Co. and later worked at Jordan Wire Co., Finey Construction Co. and Ceratt Construction Co.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Jordan American Legion Post 1127.
Surviving are three sons, Herbert G. Jr. of Elbridge, Brian E. of Weedsport and Nathan of Phoenix; six daughters, Mary Eaton of Fulton, Renee Muckey of Palermo, Cathy Dietch of Baldwinsville, Penny Goodman of Richmond, Va., Betty Smith of Minetto and Robin Cummins of Virginia; four sisters, Irene Atwell of Elbridge, Grace Dain of Jordan, Betty Galka of Auburn and Leona Abrams of Fulton; several grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
