BRASHER FALLS- Funeral services for Mrs. Maude Hawker, 85, were held Nov. 4 at the Bush Funeral Home in Jordan. Mrs. Hawker died at noon on Nov. 1, 1977 at the home of her son, George Hawker with whom she had been residing for the past two years. Mrs. Hawker had been in poor health for the past two years.
Surviving are her husband Verner of Jordan; four sons, George E. of Brasher Falls, Howard N. of Jordan, Allen W. of
Seneca Falls and Herbert of Jordan; four daughters, Mrs. Grace Dain of Jordan, Mrs. Leona Abrams of Elbridge, N.Y., Mrs. Ronald (Irene) Atwell of Elbridge and Mrs. Edward (Betty) Galka of Auburn, N.Y.; 39 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hawker was born in Jordan, N.Y. on Aug. 20, 1892, the daughter of George and Grace Smith Zellar. She married Verner Hawker of Cato, N.Y. on Feb. 22,1910. She was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church of Jordan and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW in Jordan.
Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery in Jordan.
