WINTHROP ---George E. Hawker, 68, of Brasher Falls died on Sunday (1/5/1986) in Massena Hospital.

He was born in Onondaga on Nov. 24, 1917, son of Verner and Maude Zellar Hawker. He graduated from Onondaga High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He married Hazel Gardner Milmore of Brasher on April 23, 1966 at St. Mary's Church in Massena. He worked for the St,
Lawrence County Highway Department, retiring in 1981. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Brasher Falls, the VFW in Massena, and the CSEA of Massena.

Surviving are his wife, Hazel; two sons, George Jr. of Mattydale, Gerald of Syracuse; a step-son, Horace Milmore of Brasher Falls; two step-daughters, Mrs. Victor (Olive) Perry and Mrs. David (Ann) Belile, both of Massena; three brothers, Howard and Herbert of Jordan, NY; Allen of Seneca Falls; four sisters, Mrs. Grace Dain of Jordan, Mrs. Leona
Abrams and Mrs. Irene Atwell, both of Eldridge, Mrs. Betty Galka of Auburn; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Burial was made in St. Patrick Cemetery in Brasher Falls.
