Grace M. Dain, 96, of Jordan, died Saturday in the Finger Lakes Center for Living, Auburn. Grace was a native and life resident of Jordan. She was an LPN for 20 years at the Cayuga County Nursing Home before retiring in 1977. In later years, she did private duty nursing. Grace was a member of Christ Church, Jordan, and a former member of the Jordan VFW Post Auxiliary. She was the widow of Walter E. Dain, who died in 1952. Her daughter, Maryann Buck, died in 2006. Surviving are three sons, Daniel (Joan) Dain of TX, Harold (Frannel) Dain of FL and Charles (Joan) Dain of Warsaw, NY; her daughter, Linda Helweg of NC; sister, Betty Galka of Auburn; three sisters-in-law, Eleanor Hawker, Millie Hawker and Rita Hawker; brother-in-law, Ronald Atwell; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Christ Church, Jordan, with the Rev. Timothy Reger officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to call 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Bush Funeral Home, 15 N. Main St., Jordan. Contributions may be made to Christ Church memorial fund.
