Henry Hearl Head was a son of Thomas Head (b 1853 - d 1926) and Margaret Jane Lewis called "Janie"(b 1855 - d 1941). Her parents were George Lewis and Margaret Haggerty. Henry was the first born of nine children. Known children names are Henry, Mattie, Lewis, John, Mary, Sallie and Susan "Susie" Head. By 1910 census three of the nine children had died.
Henry Hearl Head married Sulie Armethia "Mittie" Wright abt 1912. They became the parents of eight children: Lorene, Olive, George Hearl, Emily, Christine, Doris, Josie and Charles. Henry's father Thomas Head died April 21, 1926. His mother Janie died September 16, 1941, and was laid to rest by her beloved husband Thomas Head in McRae Cemetery.
Henry and Mittie's son George Hearl Head served as a TEC4, World War ll US Army 1st Cavalry Division. He was wounded and received a Purple Heart. George Hearl Head and beloved wife Marie Loocke Head share a headstone at Wood Cemetery, San Augustine County, Texas.
Henry Hearl Head passed away in 1945 from a heart attack while living in Houston, Texas, where he was working as a carpenter at the age of 62 years. Henry was laid to rest in McRae Church Cemetery, San Augustine County, Texas, where his parents were buried. His Death Certificate #11946 stated he resided in Houston for 16 years, was living at the Standard Hotel, and was divorced.
