George Hearl Head served his country honorably with valor as a TEC4, in the United States Army, 1st Cavalry Division in World War 11. George Head was injured and received a Purple Heart Medal.

Pvt. Robert Dawson Wright, age 18½, fought in Captain Sackett's Company, under Colonel Morgan, Louisiana Militia, serving General Andrew Jackson on January 8, 1815, in Battle of New Orleans. The British were defeated! Robert Dawson Wright rose to Lt. Colonel in Louisiana State Militia. He became known as the "Blacksmith on the Square" in Sumpter, Trinity Co., Texas from abt 1852 - 1861. Robert and Eleanor Wright were buried in Sumpter Cemetery, Trinity County, Texas. Five of their six sons became Ministers of the Gospel, and two of their daughters married ministers. Their spiritual legacy has come down through the generations with several ministers in the family.

His Mother Mittie Wright Head later married Johnny Bosworth. Mittie Bosworth lived 86 years. George Hearl Head and his beloved wife Marie Loocke Head share a double headstone in Wood Cemetery, as is his dear mother Mittie.
