SOURCE: THE DUNLAP (IOWA) REPORTER DATED NOVEMBER 21, 1935:

Thirty-three acres of corn stalks laden with ears, ready for husking, stood in Henry Weber's field early last Wednesday morning but just four hours later the field was bare and the corn was in the crib.

Mr. Weber, who is suffering with a broken jaw, has been under the care of a doctor and was unable to do a great deal of work. So twenty-seven of his friends and neighbors came to his farm in fourteen wagons and made a short job of the corn husking on the Weber farm.

At noon a dinner was served to the huskers, several of the ladies of the community helping Mrs. Weber.

This act of kindness was carried out on the 13th of November---wonder if Mr. Weber thinks 13 is a very unlucky number.
