Bernhardt Albert Weber, son of Peter Weber and his wife Sophie, nee Oestman, was born April 24, 1899, at Charter Oak. He moved with his parents to a farm near Ute, and after a few years to a farm near Dunlap where he lived until he retired and moved to Dunlap in January 1945.

He was married on May 9, 1925, to Miss Velma Knutzen at Schleswig .

Mr. Weber was baptized and confirmed as a member of the Lutheran Church, and during the last months was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Dow City.

After an illness of almost a year, he died (at 3:30 p.m.) quietly at his home in Dunlap on November 14, having obtained the age of 46 years, 6 months, and 21 days.

He leaves to mourn his departure: his wife; five brothers, Louis, Peter, Franz, Henry and Herman, all of Dunlap, one brother, Alfred, having preceded him in death; three sisters, Mary, Mrs. Wm. Berens; Elsie, Mrs. Henry Buter; and Emma, Mrs. Pete Pedersen, all of Dunlap; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held in the Congregational Church at Dunlap on Friday, November 16, and conducted by the Rev. M. W. Lilie of Dow City. The body was laid to rest in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Dunlap. Pallbearers were: Fred Hanneman, Austin Gorham, John Schaupp, Wm. Hartwig, Frank Feser, and Joe O'Brien.
