Irene H. Schaefer, daughter of Henry and Nell Weber was born on Sept. 8, 1912, in Crawford County and died on Friday, July 24, 1987 at the home of her son, Kenneth, in Omaha, Nebr.
Irene was married to Alfonso G. Schafer on Jan. 20, 1932. To this union were born three sons and one daughter.
Mr. and Mrs. Schaefer farmed west of Dunlap until moving to Dunlap in 1959. After leaving the farm Irene worked at the Four County Lanes bowling alley, Head Start, Dunlap Care Center and as a babysitter for many families.
Irene's love and devotion for her family never ceased. She enjoyed fishing, crafts, bingo and going to Las Vegas.
Irene was noted for her outstanding talents in cooking.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her father, two brothers and three sisters.
