Vernie Rudolph Barlowe, 85, died May 8, 1985, in Marion, NC. He was a son of Julius P. and Temperance (Tempie) McClurd Barlowe, and was born August 4, 1899 in Watauga County, NC.
He was retired from Drexel Furniture Company.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Charlie, Raleigh, Oren, Calvin, Paul and Manley Barlowe and one sister, Maudie Barlowe Pearman Franklin.
He was survived by his wife of 64 years, Eva Jane McGee Barlowe; three daughters, Anna Lee Lawing, Florence Mitchell and Mamie Reel; two sons, Clinton Barlowe and Cecil Barlowe; one brother, Stanley Barlow; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held May 11, 1985 and interment was at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Marion, NC.
