Kendall County Record, Kendall Co., IL Feb. 1882
Mr. John W. Linn died at his home in Na-au-say, Wednesday morning, February 15th, 1882. He had been ill eight days, during which he was a great sufferer. Faithful medical attendance, and the most devoted care of his friends failed to arrest the progress of the disease.
Mr. L. died in the midst of his days, being but a little more thirty-eight years old. He leaves a wife and two children, besides a large circle of relatives. The obsequies were held at his late residence, and many sorrowing friends and neighbors were present. His body was laid to rest by the side of his mother in the graveyard at Plattville. The funeral discourse by his pastor was upon the subject of the value of trust in God and the reason for it "Seeing then that we have a Great High Priest, that has passed into the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession." Heb 4:14"
