Lititz Express (Lititz, Pa.), Friday, 24 May 1895, pg. 3:

"An Aged Citizen Dead.

Jacob Adams died at his home at the eastern end of Lititz on Sunday night about 10 minutes after 2 o'clock after a long illness incident to the infirmities of old age. He was 75 years old. He was born between Millport and Rothsville where most of his life was spent. During the last seven years he resided at Lititz. He was married to Catherine Getz about 54 years ago and three boys were the fruit of this union. Only one, however, Urias Adams, of Lititz, survives and his four grandchildren are therefore the only grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Charles Herring of Warwick was an adopted daughter. Mr. Adam was both a plasterer and a carpet weaver by trade. He followed the latter altogether during his later years until about two years ago since which he was unable to do anything. He was a member of the Evangelical church between 40 and 50 years. His aged wife who survives him is also 73 years old. The funeral took place on Wednesday morning, services being held at the house and interment at the Grumbine church in Rothsville where most of his relatives are buried. Rev. A. M. Sampel officiated."
