Rainstown: Fletcher and Henry Bowman received word, Saturday evening that their mother Mrs. Walter (sic, should be George) Bowman had died suddenly with influenza at her home near Ladoga. She had visited them the Sunday before. On Monday her son Martin died and his wife and daughters are dangerously sick. A daughter, Mrs. Carrie Moreland, is not expected to live.

Ladoga, Feb. 9, 1920: Mrs. George Bowman died Sunday morning at 8 o'clock at her home four miles southeast of Ladoga of pneumonia and diabetes at the age of 55 years. She is survived by her husband and seven children, Fletcher, Henry, Mark (sic, Martin), Newton, Luther, Mrs. Carrie Moreland and Mrs. Cora Burkett. Funeral Monday at 10 am. Burial at Lizton.
