Jefferson D. Anderson
Jefferson D. Anderson was born in Clebourn county, Ala., January 22, 1861, died at Wesley hospital, Oklahoma City, august 19, 1922, aged 61 years, 6 months and 27 days. He died after two weeks of intense suffering which he born patiently until the end. In his last hours he said there was nothing in the way, all was well, he was ready to go. He was a kind loving husband and father. He had been in poor health about two years, going to Sulphur the first of July for his health. Growing worse he returned to the hospital the 7th of August to take treatment for two weeks--then came the operation from which he never rallied.
He was married to Dessie Suttles December 30, 1879. To this union twelve children were born, eleven of whom with the widow survive. All attended the funeral. One daughter passed away four years ago.
He was converted at the age of 18 years, and some years later joined the Primitive Baptist church, continuing in the faith until death. He with family moved from Alabama to Oklahoma twenty years ago, locating near Carnegie nine years ago where he resided at the time of his death.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Hollis at the Baptist church.
