She was born December 16, 1926 in Sedro-Woolley to her parents, Dewey and Jessie Soren. She grew up in Sedro-Woolley and graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School, having 8 years of perfect attendance.
Helen married Harry Allison September 27, 1946 and had three children, Dale, Diana and Dennis. She worked at local canneries in food processing retiring from Draper Valley in 1989.
She enjoyed camping, fishing, bingo and was an avid race fan going to races in Deming and at Skagit Speedway. She was a member of the Eagles for 22 years and the American Legion for 44 years.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Willhemina; and brother, Ray Soren.
She is survived by brother, Dewey Soren Jr., of Ferndale; sister, Dorothy Eckman, of Sedro-Woolley; children, Dale Allison, of Sedro-Woolley, Dennis and Karen Allison, of Sedro-Woolley, Harold and Diana Green, of Bow; grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made in Helen's name to Senior Center in Sedro-Woolley.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 27, 2010, 11:00am at Hawthorne Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at Hawthorne Memorial Park.
Arrangements are under the care of Hawthorne Funeral Home, 1825 E. College Way, Mount Vernon.
