RAY SOREN
Ray Soren, a Sedro-Woolley resident died at his home on Tuesday, Dec 10, 1996.
He was 71 years of age. He was born on January 11, 1925 in Sedro-Woolley, the son of Dewey & Jessie Soren. He was raised and attended school in Hamilton, returning to Sedro-Woolley in 1942. He served in the U.S.Army during World War II in Japan. He worked in the talc mines for a time and for 30 years at Goodyear Nelson Hardwood Lumber Co. Off bearer for Heard Saw and Debarker operator.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 43 and the Eagle Lodge 2069 both in Sedro-WOolley. He was also a member of the Lumber and Sawmill Workers Union Local 2637. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially boating.
He is survived by: a son, Richard Soren of Concrete; a daughter,Rachael Aispurco of Gig Harbor; a brother, Dewey Soren of Ferndalte, 3 sisters, Mina Soren of Burlington, Helen Allison & Dorothy Ekman, both of Sedro-Woolley, 2 uncles, William Soren & Ralph Wilson, both of Sedro-Woolley, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a special companion, June Eckler of Bellingham. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family suggests memorials be made to the American Lung Association. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, December 14, 1996 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hamilton Cemetery. Pastor Eric Spangler will officiate. Services under direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
