Alfred Bernhard Anderson of Moe township, died of a heart attack at the home of his parents at Brandon, Minn., where he spent the last three weeks. He had been a sufferer from asthma since childhood and had been ailing with heart trouble for some time although he was not confined to his bed. His sudden death was a shock to the relatives and the whole community.
Alfred Bernhard was the oldest son of Andrew and Emma Anderson. He was born in Momence, Kankakee county, Illinois on the 26th day of April 1885. He died on the 29th of December, 1931, at the age of 46 years, eight months and 3 days.
He came to Douglas county, Minnesota with his parents in spring of 1898, where he grew to manhood and was engaged in farming. He also served for some time as clerk of the town of Moe, and at the time of his death he was a director of the Garfield Livestock Shipping Association.
Funeral services were held at the Free Lutheran church at Brandon. He was laid to rest in the Brandon cemetery. Rev. O. O. Gustafson officiated. The pallbearers were Anton Sletto, John Seppanen, Theo. Foslien, Robert Thorson, Lewis Foslien and Emil A. Johnson.
He leaves to mourn his passing: his aged parents, two sisters and four brothers. They are: Louise, (Mrs. Henry Christenson) and Gustaf of Brandon, Oscar, Ellen (Mrs. Carl Frederickson), August and Clarence of Moe; six nieces and two nephews.
