Clarence W. Anderson was born in Lund Township, Douglas County, Minnesota, on August 17, 1903, the son of Andrew and Emma (Swenson) Anderson. He grew to manhood in Moe Township and worked as a carpenter and plumbing and heating contractor. On June 16, 1937, Clarence was united in marriage to Ethel Peterson. Ethel died May 11, 1986. Clarence was active in amateur baseball for over fifty years and was voted to membership in the Minnesota Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame. He was also a member of the Brandon Volunteer Fire Department. Clarence died at his home in Brandon on January 27, 1987 at the age of 83 years.
He is survived by son: James and wife Dorothy of Brandon; sister: Ellen Fredrickson of Minneapolis; brother: August Anderson of Brandon; grandchildren, Jimmy and Sandy Anderson of Brandon. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister Emma Louise and brothers Alfred, Oscar and Gust.
Funeral services were January 31, 1987 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Brandon, Minnesota with Rev. Ron Nielsen officiating. Interment was in Brandon Cemetery, Brandon, Minnesota. Pallbearers were Robert Swanson, Jimmy Anderson, Al Anderson, Lee Gray, Roy Sletto and Clifford Fredrickson. Organist was Kathy Johnson and soloist Ray Johnson. Arrangements with Anderson Funeral Home.
