Larry Ray Brawner
Larry Ray Brawner, 60, passed away at the Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Mo., on Feb. 27, 2008.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008, at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, KS (913-856-7111). A memorial fund has been established in his name in care of Bruce Funeral Home, P.O. Box 192, Gardner, KS 66030.
Larry was born Aug. 5, 1947, in Hutchinson, the son of Arlie and Mildred (Whittaker) Brawner. He attended school in Hutchinson. He joined the Army on Sept. 15, 1966, and served in Vietnam for two years, earning the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with "1960" Device. Larry worked for Dillon's Warehouse for 21 years and upon leaving the company he focused on his lifetime dream of rebuilding cars.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Doris; and his beloved brother, William D. Brawner,Sr.
He is survived by: two daughters, Michelle R. Brawner and Laetitia "Tish" A. Reed both of Kansas City, Mo.; six grandchildren, Cameron, Janee, Jessica, Robin, Brittany, and Dalton; a great-granddaughter Ma'Ryah; four brothers, Delmar and his wife, Hazel, Ronnie and his wife, Patricia, James and his wife, Rita, and Jerry all of Hutchinson; and two sisters, Norma Ardolino, Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Clarissa Hoss and her husband, Jerry, Hutchinson.
