Sarah was the second born of ten children to William Henry Davis and Prudence Cothern Davis. On Dec 28, 1878 she married Jacob F. "Jake" Burrus. Six children were born to this union. She was preceeded in death by her brother William and sister Henrietta Irene. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughters Mary, Lola, Julia; her sons John Edward, Jacob Jr., and Frank; her sisters Susan, Dora, Leath, Anna, Harrietta, and Nancy; her brother Frank, her parents William Henry and Prudence Davis; and her husband Jake; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
