Anna Elizabeth Davis Beck spent her entire life in this area of Illinois. She is the daughter of William Henry Davis and Prudence Cothern who are both buried here in Myers Cemetery along with some of her brothers, sisters and one sister-in-law. She married George Amos Beck on July 17, 1894. They brought nine children into this union. During her life she buried four infants, Louis Frank, Myrtle Ann, Rosey Jean, and George Amos, Jr. and one adult son, Claude Eugene. Hardship was a part of the life they shared. At the time of her death her four daughters, Addie Mae, Flossie Ellen, Hattie Marie, and Jennie Verna, their husbands and children and her husband of 51 years, Amos, mourned her passing; and just as she did all her life, she is now forever here next to his side. Seven of her children are buried here in Myers Cemetery with them, daughters Addie Mae, and Flossie Ellen are both near her and son Claude Eugene is in the same row. Four infants are buried in the oldest part of the Cemetery. Her daughter Hattie Marie is buried in Calvary Catholic Cemetery Edwardsville, Illinois next to her husband John Meade and her daughter Jennie Verna is buried in Fort Walton Beach, Florida in Beal Cemetery next to her husband, Minor Bowman.
