Mrs. James Hoover died at her home at 3518 North Salem Avenue, Indianapolis, about 5:30 Friday evening, her death being due directly to paralysis, although she had not been in good health for some time previous to the latter attack. During the past many days her condition of Mrs. Hoover had been alarming and the friends and relatives in this county were prepared for the announcement of her death. Mrs. Hoover was a native of Indiana, having been born in Henry county, near Newcastle, her parents being Mr. and Mrs. Elisha Haskett, who soon moved to Tipton county, being pioneer residents of this county. Mr. Haskett located on a farm east of the city, a portion of this farm now being owned by Will Hoover.
Mr. and Mrs. Hoover were united in marriage on Jan. 11, 1871 and the greater portion of their married life was spent on a farm in Benton county. The past several years they had been living in Indianapolis. The daughter Nellie died in Tipton several years ago, she having attended school her, making her home with relatives. The surviving children are Mont Hoover, Wabash county, Horace Hoover, Lafayette, Rev. Albert Hoover, Westfield, George Hoover, Portland, Oregon and Homer Hoover, Indianapolis. H.C. and Rix Haskett near Tipton, are brothers.
