She was born in Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre, daughter of the late Paul and Elizabeth Baron Barna, and attended Wilkes-Barre schools.
Mrs. Wiss resided in Wapwallopen for the last 13 years, and was a member of SS. Peter and Pal Church, Plains.
Her husband, Walter 1., Sr., died Sept. 10, 1998. Several brothers and sisters, also preceded her in death.
Surviving are sons, Martin and Walter J., both of Wapwallopen; brother, Joseph Barna, Philadelphia; two grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9 from the Mark V. Yanaitis Funeral Home, 55 Stark St., Plains, with a Funeral Mass at 9:30 in SS. Peter and Paul Church, Plains. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Plains.
