Marie Zetter was born in Sweden. Her parents Andrew and Helga Zetter homesteaded in Sheyenne, ND. Marie was first married to Rudy Olsen. They lived in Portland, Oregon and had two daughters: Sandra and Karen. Her second marriage was late in life to Lloyd DeLong.

Marie was survived by her husband Lloyd, daughters Sandra and Karen and four grandchildren.

Her headstone has her first married name as Olson. All other indicators show it was spelled Olsen.
