Vivian was born in rural Sheyenne, North Dakota to Swedish immigrant parents Andrew & Helga Zetter and was one of eleven children raised on a homestead - wheat dry farm. (brothers Iner, Clarence, Albin, Oscar & Melvin - sisters Marie, Barbara, Blenda, Lenore & Elsie). When she was a young woman she was once the roommate of yet to be discovered singer, song writer & academy award nominated performer Peggy Lee, also a North Dakota native. Vivian moved to Portland, Oregon and worked in the shipyards during WW2. Her first marriage was to Willard Roth of Portland, Oregon - with whom she had a daughter: Rosalind C. Roth-Whitis (spouse Jim H. Whitis) Her second marriage was to Orval Walker Sorensen of Rexburg, Idaho & later Portland, Oregon - with whom she had sons: Brock & Douglas K. Sorensen and daughters: Candee L. & Theo R. Sorensen. She also has four grandchildren: granddaughters Kiki & Stacey Whitis (mother Rosalind) and granddaughter Sutton & grandson Cheyne Sorensen (father Brock). In 1970 once her children were nearly all out of the nest, Vivian moved from Portland, Oregon to Los Angeles, California where she had a successful real estate career with the assistance of her close friend & mentor - David B. Simpson of Norris, Beggs & Simpson of Portland, Oregon. Vivian also had an uncommon flair for high fashion and decorating to go along with her natural Scandinavian beauty. She treasured her children & grandchildren as well as her memories of traveling the world with her daughter Candee. Vivian is much loved and proudly remembered by all that knew her well for her capacity for compassion and forgiveness.

Vivian is survived by all five of her children, all four of her grandchildren and her youngest sister Elsie.
