Allie Pierce Bowman, 99, passed away January 17, 1996 at the Pemiscot Nursing Home in Hayti.
Born in Caruthersville on December 7, 1896, she is the daughter of the late Charles R. and Sarah Felts Pierce.
She attended school in Caruthersville and graduated from Forest Park University in St. Louis. She taught music at Senath High School and had a music studio where she taught piano. Before "talkies" she played piano for silent movies at the old Rodgers Theater in Caruthersville.
She was united in marriage to Mr. Jeff Green. He preceded her in death. She united in marriage to Mr. Wes Bowman in 1940. He also preceded her in death.
Survivors include a sister, Jessie Mead of Houston, Texas and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Jan. 19, at 10 a.m. at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Schreiner officiating.
Interment was in the Little Prairie Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jiggs Dodd, Stan Dodd, Frank Morgan, Ronald Pierce and Billy Pierce.
