He was born Dec. 4th, 1900 in Caruthersville, the son of the late Charles and Sarah Pierce. He married Irene Hamlett Feb. 13th, 1930 in Blytheville, Ark. She preceded him in death on Feb. 13th, 1977.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church and belonged to the Masonic Lodge 461 A.F. and A.M. of Caruthersville.
Survivors include one daughter, Peggy James of Highland, Calif.; one brother, Robert Pierce of Caruthersville; four sisters, Mrs. Joe Holly of Cooter, Mrs. Allie Bowman of Caruthersille, Mrs. Hazel Thweatt of Houston, Tex. and Mrs. Jessie Mead of Memphis, Tenn.; three grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
