He was born February 25, 1923 in Izard County, Arkansas.
He was of Baptist faith a member of Westrock Baptist Church, a mason, and the Eastern Star. A devoted faithful leader in Christ, he was a friend to many.
Self-employed for many years as owner and operator of a Gas Service Station on Highway 10, West of Little Rock and was recently known as "Pop" at Pop's Parking Lot in Hot Springs, Arkansas near Oaklawn Park.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Daisy Moody Jones of the home; three sons Jarrett "Bud" (Betty) of Savannah, Tennessee, James (Cindy) of Roland, Arkansas, Larry of Roland, Arkansas; and one daughter Linda (Danny) Gravitt of Roland, Arkansas. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Tina, Teddy,Timmy, Tyson, Eric, Tammy and Geneanne; thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; three brothers Arlis of Wenatchee, Washington, Bill (Bernice) of Benton, Arkansas, Rudell (Lillie) of Tallahassee, Florida; one sister Zola Hall of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews, a host of other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents J. F. Jones and Mittie Watson Jones Dockins and one brother Carroll and one sister Violet Sutherland.
Interment was at Hand Cemetery.
