Margaret Alice Harper, age 98, entered into eternal rest in the early hours of November 3, 2009. Margaret was born October 10, 1911, in Collingsworth County, Texas, the fifth child of James W. Loter and Gertrude Dysart Loter. She moved to Oklahoma when she was 17 years old, to attend Oklahoma Christian Academy at Cordell and later attended Hill Business College in Oklahoma City. Margaret married Robert B. Harper on September 26, 1942. They made their home in Oklahoma City where they established a real estate investment and brokerage business. Robert was one of the first real estate broker's licensed in Oklahoma in 1950 and Margaret became a broker in 1968. She was preceded in death by Robert on February 28, 1992. From that time on, Margaret personally managed their business until she became ill this past summer. Also preceding her were her parents and two sisters, Ola Loter Langston and Lena Loter Hays, and three brothers, John, Allen, and Wesley Loter. She is survived by her son Robert, Jr., and his wife Dorothy, and their children Scott Harper and wife Sheila, Sherri Williams and husband Jason, Kathryn Palmer, Sollie Diehl, and Samuel Serge Diehl and wife Elizabeth, nine grandchildren, three nephews, one niece, and countless friends and extended family. Services will be conducted by Bill Merritt Funeral Home. Viewing will be from 5-7 Thursday evening at Bill Merritt Funeral Home, 6201 N.W. 39th Expressway. Funeral service will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery Chapel, 8701 N.W. Expressway, at 10 a.m. Friday.
