child
spouse/partner
sibling
parent
grandchild, great-grandchild
grandparent, great-grandparent
niece/nephew, great-niece/nephew
aunt/uncle, great-aunt/uncle
first cousin.

Use of rank is reserved for career 20-year retirees or KIA. It's use other than this is prohibited by the DoD.
