Nettie DeHoedt, 70, wife of Dorsey DeHoedt, died at their rural Montezuma home at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept 13. Interment was in West Liberty Cemetery.
The daughter of George M. and Emma Watson Johnson, she was born near Searsboro on March 22, 1896. She attended Searsboro High School and Iowa State Teachers College. For nine years she taught in the rural schools of Poweshiek and Mahaska counties.
On March 20, 1926, she married Dorsey DeHoedt and to this union four sons were born, Robert, Scott, and Wayne of Barnes City, and Lee of Searsboro.
She is survived by her husband and sons; eight grandchildren; one sister, Edna Gable of Ladysmith, Wisc.; four brothers, Fred, Albert, and George of Searsboro, and Harry of Grinnell; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, four brothers and three sisters.
