Albert L. Johnson, 92, of 704 First Ave., Grinnell, died Wednesday, April 3, at the Senior Home in Montezuma. Graveside services were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the West Liberty Cemetery.

The son of George and Emma Watson Johnson, he was born June 29, 1892, near Searsboro. He attended Bunker Hill School before teaching one term. As a young man he worked for H. R. Ritter Hardware in Searsboro and Grinnell.

On April 15, 1916, he was married to Wilma M. Smith at Marshalltown. They farmed near Searsboro, moving to Grinnell in 1973.

Mr. Johnson had been a member of the Grange, the I.O.O.F., and the Farm Bureau. He had also served on the Searsboro School Board. He attended the Searsboro Friends Church and later the Northside Friends Church of Grinnell.

Survivors include his wife, Wilma; one daughter, Lucille Gooch of Des Moines; one son, Lyle Johnson of Searsboro; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one brother, George Johnson of Lynnville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Charlie, Ed, Fred, and Harry; and four sisters, Myrtle Sheehy, Alpha Fleener, Nettie DeHoedt, and Edna Gable.
