In 1868 she, with her husband and children, came to Lucas county, Iowa, and located on a farm in Benton township, where they resided until 1900, when they moved to Chariton, and this place was her home until last March, since which time she has made her home with her children.

Mr. Shreck died on May 4th, 1911. Besides her children she is also survived by thirty-five grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
When fourteen years of age she was converted and united with the German Lutheran church, remaining a faithful and consistent member of the same until her Lord and Master called her to the Church Triumphant.
She was a kind and indulgent mother, always looking after the welfare of the family and was ever ready to lend assistance to others. She was highly regarded by all who knew her and her demise will be deplored by a host of friends, who will extend sincere sympathy to the sorrowing relatives.
