Anna Schoenberg Welle

Anna Schoenberg was born 08 Jan 1885 on the family farm north of the village of Spring Hill, MN. Anna was the second of the nine children of Martin and Katherine (Gerads) Schoenberg.

On 09 Jun 1903, Anna Schoenberg married Joseph J. Welle in Spring Hill, MN. The couple farmed one mile north of Meire Grove, MN in Grove Township (Section 17).

There were 13 children born to this union:

Adalbert (1911-1985)
Mary Rieland (1913-1987)

Anna Welle died on 18 Feb 1944 at the St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, Stearns County, Minnesota. She was 59 years old. Anna was buried in St. John's Cemetery in Meire Grove, MN.

Anna is survived by her husband, Joe J, daughters Lizzie Ellering, Mary Rieland, Katie SIngsank and Anna Marie (Imdieke), sons Ervin, Adelbert, Wilfred and Martin Welle; brothers Joe and Charles Schoenberg; sisters Apollonia Welle, Mary Braun, Minnie Ellering and Katie Athmann.

Anna Welle was preceded in death by five children. Four offspring died as infant / young children: Lorretta (1923), twin boys - Henry and Leo (1920) and Anthony (1925). The eldest son, Joeeph H. Welle, died after his vehicle was hit by a train in Greenwald, Minn. He was 38 years old.

Also preceding Anna in death were her parents (Martin (1923) and Katherine Schoenberg (1935), and two brothers Henry Schoenberg (1917) and Willie Schoenberg (1937).
