Wilhelm "Willie" Schoenberg

Wilhelm Schoenberg was born 10 November 1890 on the Schoenberg Family Farm in Section 9 of Spring Hill Township, Stearns, Minnesota. Willie is the fifth of the nine children of Martin & Katherine (Gerads) Schoenberg.

On 15 June 1915, when Willie Schoenberg was 24 years old, he married Elenora "Ellie" Braun at Saint Michael's Catholic Church in Spring Hill, MN.

Elenora Braun was born 9 June 1895 on the Braun Family Farm, about 1 mile west of the Schoenberg homestead. Elenora "Ellie" was the youngest of eleven children born to John & Anna Maria (Minnerath) Braun.

The wedding of Willie Schoenberg and Ellie Braun became a double wedding when Ellie's brother, Henry Braun, and Willie's younger sister, Mary Schoenberg, were also wed. The two couples were married at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spring Hill, Stearns, Minnesota on June 15, 1915.

Willie and Ellie took over the operation of the Schoenberg farm from his parents, Martin & Katie Schoenberg. Years later, the farm would be passed to their son, Victor Schoenberg, and then to the next generation with Victor and Bertha's son, John Schoenberg, taking over the operation. Today the Schoenberg ancestral farm remains in the Schoenberg family with ownership and operation in the hands of John & Marilyn's son, Grant Schoenberg and his family.

Ellie & Willie Schoenberg are the parents of 11 children:

Willie Schoenberg died on March 15, 1937 on the family farm in Spring Hill, Minn at age 46 years. He was buried in St. Michael's Cemetery in Spring Hill, Minn.

Ellie Schoenberg continued to farm with the help of her children, brothers-in-law Carl & Joe Schoenberg, along with other relatives & friends. A few years later Ellie would sell the farm to her son and daughter-in-law, Victor & Bertha Schoenberg. She moved to Melrose, Minn.
