His plane was shot down during WWII, he was captured as a POW for 15 months in Germany. After retiring he went into Civil Service and then retired for good at 55. Dad loved to travel and was a member of the Airstream trailer group, traveling all around the county and Canada. He had a heart attack in 1981, re-covered, then suffered another heart attack in 1988". ....Since dad was in the military, we lived in San Bernardino, California (Norton AFB) and San Antonio, Texas (Lackland AFB) after the children were born, we lived in town and also on the base. Dad was stationed in Korea for one year in 1957 by himself. He chose that we not move to often like some other military families and after his one year away from the family, he did not want to be separated from the family again. Our family grew up in the Protestant faith and we all are Christians today. The family has remained very close and we are all involved with our children and their activities". [Thank you, Steve, WB]
