Funeral services for Bob Blackwell will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2006 at First Baptist Church of Boyce with Reverend Joe Reynolds and Reverend Jim Lofton officiating. Graveside services will be conducted by the Alexandria/Pineville Honor Guard at 3:30 p.m. in Heard Cemetery, Manifest under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.

Mr. Blackwell, 72, of Boyce, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2006 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.

Mr. Blackwell was a member, Deacon, Sunday School teacher and choir leader at First Baptist Church of Boyce. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict as an Aircraft Mechanic. Mr. Blackwell was awarded the National Defense Service Metal. He was owner of Bob's Carpet Cleaning.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Carrie Sneed Blackwell.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Jeri Blackwell of Boyce; his son, Robin Blackwell of Boyce; his daughters, Barbara Mask and husband, Charles of Sturges, Mississippi and Mary DeLissa Munez and husband, Jesse of Beaumont, Texas; his step sons, Barry Hamilton, Jr. and wife, Vicki of Harrisonburg, Neal Hamilton and wife, Shannon of Jonesville and Mark Hamilton of Jena; his step daughter, Robin Poole and husband, Eric of Jonesville; his sister, Rose Grannemann of New Haven, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Rex Boloxom, Michael Mask, Robert Boloxom, Robert Hamberlin, Ryan Hamilton, Mark Hamilton and Eric Poole.

Honorary pallbearers will the Deacons of First Baptist Church of Boyce.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services today at the church.
