Mrs. James West, 79, Dies; Rites Monday

Mrs James West, 79, a Webster county resident for 60 years and a resident of Fort Dodge for the past 27 years, died late Friday night at Lutheran hospital. She had been a medical patient at the hospital for four days.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Wilder and Bruce funeral home. The Rev. Lester Heck of Lehigh, pastor of the Lehigh United Brethren church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Blanchard cemetery at Lehigh.
Mrs. West, born Oct. 11, 1871, at RayVill, Mo., was the former Laura Rhudy, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Rhudy.
She was married on July 8, 1891, to James N. West of RayVill. The Wests moved to Lehigh shortly after their marriage and farmed in that vicinity for many years.
Retiring 27 years age, they moved to Fort Dodge. The family resided at 808 Twelfth avenue southwest.
Mrs. West had been in falling health for the past year and had been seriously ill for about two weeks.
Surviving are her husband, four daughters and one son, Mrs. Ollie Gerrard, Mrs. Glen Pratt and Mrs. Albert Ely, all of Fort Dodge, Mrs. Ben Andrews of Evanston, Ia., and Averill West of Fort Dodge.
Forty-one grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three daughters, two sons, and several brothers and sisters.
