DAVID R. RUDY PASSES

David R. Rudy, who during the past three years has been making his home with his daughters, Mrs. James West and Mrs. Sam Bailey, passed away at the home of the former Sunday, death being due to old age. Last summer he had the misfortune to fall and hurt himself, and since last fall has been bedridden, and was sick only a couple of days, but because of his advanced age the end came quickly. David R. Rudy was born in Johnston county, Indiana, Oct 21, 1829, and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. West, February 4, 1917, aged 87 years, 3 months and 13 days. He was married in Indiana and they made their home in that state most of their lives. Mrs. Rudy passing away about forty years ago. Mr. Rudy was a Civil war veteran and fought nobly for his country during those trying times. He was a loving father and was held in high esteem by all who knew him. The funeral services were held from the home Tuesday, conducted by Rev. Hammer, and the interment in the cemetery at Brushy. He leaves to mourn his loss four daughters, Mrs. Jim West, and Mrs. Sam Bailey, of this place, Mrs. Frank McGuire, of Little Falls, Minn., and Mrs. Andy Fields, of Braymer, Mo. The sympathy of all is extended the bereaved relatives.
