Carmi, IL - Georgia Faye Mitchell, 62, Carmi, died Monday morning, Sept. 1, 2008 at the home of her granddaughter in McLeansboro.
She was born Jan. 24, 1946 in Essex, Mo., the daughter of William and Georgia (Mundy) Acord. Georgia was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Bobby Mitchell and Billy Mitchell, and two daughters, Tammy Shepard and Cindy Mitchell, all of Carmi; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and ten brothers and sisters, Raymond (Phyllis) Acord of Kokomo, Ind., John (Lois) Acord of Wretham, Mass., Wilma (George) Martinelli of Woonsocket, R.I., Gertie Browning, Rosie Doneghue, Mary (Dave) Jordan, Carl "Dutch" (Betty) Acord, Charlie (Pattie) Acord and George Acord, all of Carmi, and Vonda Rosignal of Mt. Carmel. She was preceded in death by a brother, Louie Acord, and a sister, Angela Kay Peterson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Stendeback Family Funeral Home/Kittinger-Fair in Carmi. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be Kuykendall Cemetery near Carmi.
