Daten and his wife moved to to the Kokomo area in 1944. He was employed at Continental Steel before retiring in 1968.

He attended Bethel Tabernacle Church of God Kokomo

He is survived by his wife, eleven daughters, six sons, three brothers, several half brothers and half sisters, 41 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. (Names omitted per FG policies).
