He leaves a wife, Zaida Neasmith Shearing; a daughter, Dorothy VanSlyke of Clinton; four sons, Donald, Arthur, Robert and Walter; a sister, Mrs. John Kershaw of Silver Springs; and a brother, Everett Shearing. Burial took place in Maple Grove Cemetery, Gainesville.
