Funeral services for Mrs. Etta J. Barnes will be held at 3 P.M. Wednesday in the Chapel of George H. Hewell and Sons Northside Funeral Home, 4747 Main St., the Rev H.C. Tison officiating. Mrs. Barnes, of 1946 Evergreen Ave., died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born in Lake City, and had lived in Jacksonville most of her life. She was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, a life member of the Pyracanthia Garden Circle of Jacksonville, and of the Brentwood Chapter 183, Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jean Barnes Wilson, three sons; R.C. Barnes, Jr., Robert Earl Barnes, and Thomas (Buddy) Barnes; three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Aycock, Mrs. Lucille Register, and Mrs. Ethel Frazier; three brothers, Thomas L., William A. and R.J. Ratlieff; thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Pallbeares will be active, the Rev. Jim Rigdon, Donald Barnes, Terry Gordie, Roger Hiers, H.T. Lindsey, and T.J. Hodges, honorary: Bill Thompson, Leo Paulk, the Rev. Edward Hampton, Rev. Troy Taylor, Dr. Daniel Nunn, Dr. Gordon Ira, Sr., Dr. Gordon Ira, Jr., D. Eugene Page, Dr. George R. Spooner III, Dr. Joseph W. Haddock. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, with rites at the graveside conducted by Brentwood Chapter 183, Order of the Eastern Star.
