William A. Ratlieff, 78, a lifetime resident of Jacksonville, passed away Saturday, January 5th, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Ratlieff served with the U.S. Navy during WWII in London, England and retired from the City Parks Department in 1974 after 22 years of service. Survivors include his loving wife of almost 60 years, Clata Ratlieff, two daughters, Jackie Hunter and Rebecca Depew and her husband, Larry Hinman, two sisters, Lucille Register and Ethel Deen, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The Reverend John Ragsdale will lead Graveside funeral services at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 8th, in Evergreen Cemetery (Gate 1). The family will receive friends from 46:00 PM tonight at HardageGiddens Funeral Home, 4315 Main St. In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions to the Parkinson Foundation.
