The many friends of Thomas Jefferson Ratliff, 53, will regret to learn of his death at the family residence, 2923 Evergreen Avenue early yesterday after a short illness. Mr. Ratlieff was a native of Georgia and had been a resident of Jacksonville for eight years. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ellie Smith Ratlieff and four daughters, Mrs. R.C. Barnes, Jacksonville, the misses Mildred, Lucille and Ethel Ratliff, all at home and three sons, Tommie L., William A. and R.J. Ratliff, all of Jacksonville; one half brother, William Ratliff, Macon, Ga., and one sister, Mrs. Jane Smith, Jennings, Florida. The body was removed to the Thomas J. Burns, Jr., Funeral Home in South Jacksonville and prepared for shipment and was forwarded Monday night to Manor, Ga., accompanied by the family, where funeral services and interment will take place.
