Mr. Hochnadel was born on Dec.12, 1915, in Sterling to John Sr. and Anna Marie (Gertner) Hochnadel. He attended St. Anthony's and Sander's schools.
He married Veronica Sewald on Jan. 18, 1938, at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
He was a member of the St. Anthony's Parish and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed playing cards, tinkering with projects in his garage, and watching stock car races. He especially enjoyed building and maintaining go-carts for his grandchildren.
He is survived by daughters Verla Jeanne Koch and husband Billy of Apache Junction, Ariz., Carol McFarland of Nunn, Stella Louise Sewald and husband Jerry of Arvada; sons, John Kenneth Hochnadel and wife Joann of Visalia, Calif., Leonard Andrew Hochnadel and wife Christy of Red Feather Lakes; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Tecla Dukart, Elizabeth Schell, Magealene Lambrecht, Catherine Mari, Barbara Berger, Mary Maier, Rose Kaiser and Anne Kaiser; brothers, Andrew Hochnadel and Joseph Hochnadel.
